The Costa del Sol is the most established of Spain's coasts: a year-round international community, mild winters, and a corridor of very different places between Manilva and Fuengirola — from the hills behind Marbella to working seafront towns. It is also where Dominium is based, so what we publish here we have seen.

Lifestyle

Life runs along the coast road and up into the hills. Marbella and the Golden Mile carry the restaurants, beach clubs and gardens; Nueva Andalucía and Benahavís the golf and the gated estates; Estepona and San Pedro a real town rhythm; the west (Manilva, Casares) a quieter, better-value stretch of beach and marina.

Practical.

Airport

Málaga–Costa del Sol (AGP), roughly 45 minutes to an hour from Marbella by road; Gibraltar is the alternative for the western end.

Road and rail

The AP-7 toll road and A-7 run the length of the coast; high-speed rail (AVE) from Málaga María Zambrano reaches Madrid in under three hours.

Schools

A cluster of international schools around Marbella, San Pedro, Estepona and Sotogrande teaching British, American and international curricula.

Healthcare

Public Hospital Costa del Sol in Marbella and several private hospitals and clinics along the coast.

Marinas and golf

Puerto Banús, Marbella, Estepona and La Duquesa marinas; a very high concentration of golf courses, centred on Nueva Andalucía and Benahavís.
